Language Server Protocol
The LSP tools provide repository-aware symbol navigation and diagnostics when a supported language server is installed or discoverable. Capabilities include symbol lookup, definitions, references, hover information, diagnostics, and workspace symbols. Servers are location-scoped and managed with bounded lifecycle and idle eviction. LSP tool access still passes through TurenOS permissions and workspace boundaries.Code Mode
Code Mode lets an agent write a small orchestration program that invokes allowed tools and MCP capabilities through a confined runtime. It is useful when a task needs several related calls without returning each intermediate result to the model. Code Mode does not grant new authority. The runtime receives only its declared tool surface, applies input/output limits, and returns bounded results and attachments.When to use each
- Use LSP for semantic code navigation and diagnostics.
- Use Code Mode for compact multi-tool data processing.
- Use normal tools for direct file, command, or web operations.
- Use subagents when the work benefits from an independent durable session.
Availability depends on the current location, installed language servers, connected Extensions, and selected agent permissions.
