# Terminal and Git

> Run shared shells and inspect repository state

## Shared terminal

Each session can use a shared PTY-backed shell. Environment state, current directory, and shell process persist across terminal executions until the terminal closes.

Interactive terminal access and agent shell tools coordinate ownership. TurenOS rejects conflicting shell access rather than mixing input between two active owners.

## Shell tools

Agents can run bounded commands through the shell tool after permission evaluation. Discovery, search, reading, and file mutation use specialized tools where available; this keeps output structured and narrows authority.

TurenOS blocks or requires explicit approval for dangerous host behavior, external directories, and destructive command patterns. These controls reduce accidents but do not create a sandbox.

## Git workflow

Git projects expose branch and change state in the workspace UI. Agents can inspect diffs, create commits, and run ordinary Git commands with your permissions.

Use worktrees for isolated parallel work. TurenOS never assumes it owns unrelated changes in a dirty worktree.
