# Projects and workspaces

> Organize repositories and isolate work with Git worktrees

## Projects

A project is a local repository or directory registered with a TurenOS server. The Agents home shows recent projects and their sessions. Open a project from the home page or choose one while composing a new session.

Project actions include:

* Start a new session
* Edit project metadata
* Enable or disable workspaces
* Clear notifications
* Close the project from the current server

Projects are server-scoped. The same path on two connected servers represents two different execution locations.

## Workspaces

For Git projects, a workspace is an isolated worktree associated with a branch. The New session page can target:

* The main local checkout
* An existing workspace
* A newly created worktree

When you create a worktree, TurenOS prepares it before admitting the first prompt. Session tools and file operations then use the selected workspace directory.

  Worktrees share the repository's Git object database but have separate working files and indexes. Review uncommitted changes before deleting or resetting a workspace.

## Remote locations

Desktop uses its bundled local server by default. You can connect additional TurenOS servers or WSL locations. Project, session, permission, and filesystem state remain owned by the selected location.
