# Code intelligence and Code Mode

> Use LSP navigation and confined multi-tool orchestration

## Language Server Protocol

The LSP tools provide repository-aware symbol navigation and diagnostics when a supported language server is installed or discoverable.

Capabilities include symbol lookup, definitions, references, hover information, diagnostics, and workspace symbols. Servers are location-scoped and managed with bounded lifecycle and idle eviction.

LSP tool access still passes through TurenOS permissions and workspace boundaries.

## Code Mode

Code Mode lets an agent write a small orchestration program that invokes allowed tools and MCP capabilities through a confined runtime. It is useful when a task needs several related calls without returning each intermediate result to the model.

Code Mode does not grant new authority. The runtime receives only its declared tool surface, applies input/output limits, and returns bounded results and attachments.

## When to use each

* Use LSP for semantic code navigation and diagnostics.
* Use Code Mode for compact multi-tool data processing.
* Use normal tools for direct file, command, or web operations.
* Use subagents when the work benefits from an independent durable session.
